Welcome to The Point of Impact

We are Paul and Kim Dyar and we are called to Missions in Honduras. Our mission is to connect ministry passion with real ministry need. The need is never ending, however laborers are few. We are working as the assistant to the national overseer of the Church of God, which embodies 1130 churches, 10 clinics, 1 orphanage, numerous feeding programs and has the largest social ministry of any denomination in Honduras. The social ministry includes the Deaf Comunity Center and caring for pastors and their children.

Kim and I have dedicated our time to making sure that ministry is accountable and connected. As the Projects Coordinator for Honduras, churches can know when they send funds through the World Missions and National office of Honduras that it makes the full impact and progress that is anticipated.

We are also engaged in consistent dialogue with the national overseer for better ways of leadership training and connectivity with local missionaries for greater effectiveness.

We have been in ministry, as a team, for 13 years and the last 5 years we have been pastoring The Haven in Maryville, Tennessee, which has been a tremendous joy. The Lord has given us 4 beautiful children who are becoming our ministry team. They are very eager to learn and they love to help others.

Our goal is to bring others to the point of impact. The Point of Impact is where Christ enters the heart of mankind and Jesus becomes the difference maker. We are only branches connected to the True Vine, Jesus. As we advance the Kingdom, we expect God to move in miraculous ways.

Part one of the "Big Move"

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Sorry it has taken a few weeks to update the blog. We have been on the go, as you could imagine. We have been to both Family Christmas' and I appreciate our families understanding that gifts are not what the season is about. We really enjoyed our time with family and are very thankful for their support of the ministry.

Here is a few Facts that we have learned over the past couple of weeks.

Fact #1 It takes a lot longer to load the truck than it does to unload. We rented the U-Haul on the morning of Dec. 19th and spent the rest of the day and the next morning loading. On the 20th we left about noon, arrived about 4:30, and had the truck unloaded by 5:30. Thanks to some great help by Jack and Ernie.

Fact #2 Air mattresses are not bad ways to sleep. The family will be sleeping on air mattresses for a few weeks in the States and for a few weeks in Honduras. So Kim and I camped out "in the house" one night to try it out. Either we were so tired that we didn't notice or the Air mattress is going to work out just fine.

Fact #3 Suit cases hold a lot more than one can imagine. Either that, or Kim just knows how to stuff them just right. Of course, it helps to have 10 enormous suit cases and five carry ons that are not so small themselves. My wonder is how are we going to carry all the luggage to the airport and the little ones, at the same time. Pray for favor and a good cart in the airport.

Fact #4 Stuff just doesn't seem to be enticing anymore. I have hauled off 3 loads to the dump and one load to the Salvation Army and a load to the Crisis Pregnancy Center not including what Karyn and Ernie and others have taken with them.

Fact #5 Houses are so much cleaner with out anything in them. No toys scattered around, no game consoles or controllers, no furniture out of place, nothing but a few suit cases and a few clothes.

One sure learns to appreciate the simple things in life.

Brotherly Love

It was great to be with my brother Dale and his family in Savannah, GA. If I have regrets it is that I do not get to talk to him very often. However, the time spent was truly refreshing!

Thanks Dale for following the Lord and being a great example for a younger brother.

While I was there, Dale shared with me the vision of the church. To hear the vision and see its fulfillment was awesome! Dale took me to see the land that has been purchased for their new Church and he also showed me the plans for the new facility. It is going to be beautiful! I hope it is going to be big enough because I am believing for a break through harvest.

I admire Coastal for following God's vision since transition is always hard. But new beginnings, like new births, always have a time of travail.

My prayer is that every chain of limitation be destroyed and that every window of opportunity be turned into an over flowing door of God's blessings. I am looking forward to see what advancements are made over the next few years and also hope to be able to minister with you again. Thank you for your support and for your continual prayer.

Partnering with you for the advancement of the Kingdom,
Paul Dyar

Momentum Weekend

Thank you Embassy Christian Center for a wonderful weekend! All three services were a true blessing and I pray that it was a F.O.C.U.S. time for you as it was for me.

F - finding, O - owning, C - covenanting, U- understanding, S - serving.

Pastor Todd, I sure appreciate you and Steve for your "kind" words of encouragement and your friendship. Your investment in the kingdom work that God has given us to do is greatly appreciated.

Embassy is a wonderful church that has a lot passion for Christ. Your youth ministry has inspired me on several occasions. I just love seeing the youth at the Haven come back exhilarated by your events. I pray that you all will consider making a trip to Honduras and making us a priority on your future missions endeavors.

It has been a pleasure serving as an adjunct (add junk) professor and partner in ministry with all of the Embassy family and Ambassador College.
Love you all and may you continue to walk in the favor of God,
Paul Dyar

Ps. Thank you Sam Wilson for a father's blessing!

Close to the Goal

We are very close to meeting our targeted budget goal. It is hard to realize the amount of funds it takes to move out of the country. Some expenses include; the insurances that you have to maintain, the price of plane tickets for 6, the cost of living in the city of San Pedro Sula, and transportation cost, considering gas is more expensive there than here. You can just imagine the funds we have to raise.

However, our goal of $10,000 in cash before we go is close. We have already purchased our tickets and we'll be flying out on January 15th. Subtracting the amount for the tickets we still have half our goal met. We are only $1,200 a month away from reaching our goal of monthly support. Praise the Lord!

If you would, please keep us in prayers and join us by faith so we may see the Hand of God move in Honduras.

If you would like to help us meet these goals, it would be greatly appreciated! All you have to do is follow the directions on this Blog page.

Home at "The Haven"

Praise God! This past Sunday was glorious. I truly needed a refreshing and the wind of the Spirit blew in both services. Some reported healing while others got refreshed. Thank God! I know that The Haven is facing a lot of bewilderment in the transition, however, you could not tell it this past Sunday.

Monday, I went to the church and walked in the door and immediately tears started streaming down my face. Some have asked "are you having a hard time going?" and it is not that at all. I am having a hard time leaving. I know God has called us to Honduras, with no doubts, but The Haven has become our home and we have poured our lives into some wonderful people, and leaving that, is the hard part.

Thank you to The Haven for loving us, supporting us, and keeping us in your prayers. We look forward to keeping in touch and sharing with you what God is doing in Honduras.

A Valley of Cedars

1 Kings 6:9-10 9 So he built the temple and completed it, roofing it with beams and cedar planks. 10 And he built the side rooms all along the temple. The height of each was five cubits, and they were attached to the temple by beams of cedar. NIV

Down in Cedartown, GA. God is building a church. What an awesome service! The worship was glorious and the Holy Spirit ministered in both services.

The Pastor, Danny Rhodes, introduced me to Phil who goes regularly to Honduras. I look forward to ministering with him while he is there. They also mentioned bringing a team of young people on a short term missions trip this coming year.

I look forward to seeing what this church is going to do for the Kingdom.

Thank you Cedartown and Pastor Rhodes and Tina.

We love you all and will continue to pray for you.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!

We love you all. Thanks for your prayers. We have about 8 more weeks before we leave. We are a little better than halfway to our goal. By faith, we are purchasing plane tickets next week and are planning to ship our belongings over.

How exciting is that!

If you would like to contact us call (865) 228-4769 or email at pastordyar@gmail.com

We love you, Paul, Kim and Family

How close to eternity are you!

Please keep my brother in prayer.
As he was on his way to see me for breakfast this past Tuesday, he had a motorcycle accident. He broke his arm, which required surgery, has a fractured collar bone and leg and also has a cut on his leg. Thank God he is alive. The accident was no ones fault. He slipped on the slick pavement in the national park in Gatlinburg. He was wearing a leather suit that kept him from having too many scrapes, but that did not stop the broken bones, bumps, and bruises.

Keep him in your prayers. He will be out of commission for about 3 months according to the doctors. However, we know that God can bring a speedy recovery.

We never know how close we are to eternity until a close call takes place.

Reconnecting in Ohio

What a pleasure it was to be back at Parma Park Church of God.
As Youth Pastors at Parma Park, eight years ago, we developed some great relationships and it was wonderful to reconnect.

Pastor Duncan and Sandra were great mentors to Kim and me. They were also surrogate grandparents, as they were with us in place of our on parents, when Anna was born.

Wow, how the youth have grown up and developed into active participants in the church. Also, to hear about those who have gone on to be youth pastors and music ministers, is so exciting. Kim and I knew that this youth group was a special group. Even the group now is doing well. Tim, keep up the good work.

Chris is still doing a great job with the music and what a wonderful service we had.

Thank you Bro. Duncan and Parma for allowing me to reconnect with you all and I look forward to keeping you informed of the ministry in Honduras.

We will be remembering you all in prayer.

Big Hearts Close To Home

We were able to be close to home this Sunday. Bro. Donnie Morton invited us to be a part of the services at Liberty Full Gospel Church.

I'm very impressed with the striving for excellence that is evident in this church. The Spirit of God was truly stiring the waters and we had a glorious service!

Bro. Morton started this church in his house and has now converted a store front into a beautiful worship center. It will not be long till they will be searching for another facility that will hold more people. He also desires to put a team together to come down next year to Honduras and we look forward to having them.

Thank you Liberty Full Gospel Church for your prayers and support of the Ministry in Honduras. We are so glad that we are connected to you all.

Our prayers will continue to be with you as we step out to advance the Kingdom of God.

Blessed by Illinois Churches

It was a great blessing to be in Illinois!

I want to thank again, Pastor Laughlin for inviting us to come to Beltline Christian Center. He connected us with Pastor Jeremy and Ginger Robinson, friends that we had not talked with, in almost three years. They Pastor the Bethalto Church of God and are doing a great work there. Bethalto is in the middle of a building project, however, they allowed us to come and share about the ministry to Honduras. They have a deaf person and an interpreter in their church, so they truly do understand the value of knowing sign language and the importance of Deaf ministries.

I am very thankful for the opportunities and the support that both these churches have given to the ministry in Honduras and look forward to going back and giving them an update.

Thank you Beltline and Bethalto churches for your kindness and support.

We are praying for you all and are expecting to hear great things about your ministries.

Dynamite comes in small packages

A few weeks ago, I picked up the phone and the caller ID read Beltline Christian Center. In my mind, I was thinking who is this, since it was not an area code I could recollect. However, on the line was Pastor Dennis Laughlin, the pastor of Beltline Christian Center. We had met once before through a common friend when I was at Hopewell COG. He pastored in Maryville for a time during my tenure at The Haven. It is a small world! Pastor Laughlin and I talked on the phone for about 45 minutes and the next day, he called me back to invite us in for a missions service.

God gave us a divine appointment with this wonderful pastor, his wife Jamie and their beautiful blonde haired daughter.

Folks, these people have some talented musicians. They had an awesome worship service and then there was a great freedom to preach God's Word.

After I preached, I shared for a few minutes about the missions endeavor. Pastor Laughlin then got up and gave the church a challenge that blew me away. At first I wanted to question him about it, then the Lord checked me in my Spirit and said, "did I not say I will supply your need?"

I really didn't know how to respond. I wasn't sure if I should shout, dance, run, fall over or what, but then, the song came to me "Little is much when God is in it."

Dennis, I know you have come in on hard circumstances and that the numbers are not where you want them to be but, I want you to know when God is in it you can conquer the greatest task. Gideon was small in number and even laid a few fleeces out there to question God, but God gave him the victory.

Beltline Christian Center, be obedient to the voice of God and you will be letting out your tent stakes and adding chairs to the room before long. We are looking forward to the groups and the ministries that you will be bringing to Honduras in the near future.

Thanks for your Hospitality, the AWESOME food (I thought I was in the south), the prayers and the support.

Your servant in Honduras

Breaking the "sound" barrier

As Kim and I were traveling back from Cleveland, OH last week, we were thinking of some names to name our blog page. Kim suggested Breaking the Sound Barrier, and I loved it. What do you all think?

We just returned from Cooley Ave. COG in Cleveland OH. and they have got it going on. Their Ministry to the inner city blew me away! No wonder God is blessing this church. I am truly honored to be connected with what God is doing in Cleveland.

We had a wonderful time with Rich and Angel Boll and their family. They and their new Missions Coordinators, Roy and Judy were absolutely wonderful to us. The service was awesome!

Thank you, Cooley Ave. Church of God for being such a blessing to us. I know that your ministries will continue to break forth with new horizons.

Rich, I am sorry your children fell under the weather after we left. I think I've been fighting off something since then as well. I pray they all get to feeling better.

Serving with you all in the Kingdom
